NEW CAMPS FOR 2008!

_

A DOUBLE DIP OF HARTMAN CENTER

For those youth completing grades 9-12

Hiking, camping, Bible Study, crafts, swimming, worship – returning campers will find all the activities they come to love about Hartman Center. New campers will come to experience the close community of our campers. Ane something new – each day we will travel to a different ice cream establishment! Join us for a week of delicious, classic Hartman Center fellowship.

HORSEBACK RIDING

For those completing grades 7-11

This year we will be offering two different weeks of horseback riding. One will be for beginners or those with little riding experience (7/20-26) and the other will be for intermediate to advanced riders (7/27-8/2).During this week of camp, campers will enjoy training, riding, and proper equine care at nearby Appalachia Spring Ranch in Beavertown. You will also enjoy everything else that Hartman Center offers campers but Tuesday - Friday from 10-4 will be spent at the Ranch. These camps are limited to 8 campers which creates more individual instruction, so get your reservations in early!

VIDEOGRAPHY CAMP

For those completing grades 7-9

For all of those aspiring film producers and actors. This camp will take a familiar text from the Bible and re-tell it in today’s language and images. All participants will return home at weeks end with a DVD, scripted, blocked, taped and edited during one week at camp!

GREEN GRAND CAMP (minimum age 5)

This is not your “typical” Grandparent/Grandchild camp! Gail Landers, who is trained as a “Project Learning Tree” instructor, will involve campers in hands-on-nature knowledge building activities. You will really have an opportunity to be “partners in creation” with that special someone in your family; to bridge the ages with a rich camp experience filled with fun and excitement – hiking, swimming, sitting around the campfire, singing, creating crafts. You and your grandchildren will really begin to understand what it means to be good stewards of God’s world.

ADVENTURE OUTPOST

For youth completing grades 8-11

This one is for those young people who want a real adventure! Not for the coach potato!! Campers will do an overnight canoe trip, an overnight hike, do some climbing and maybe even high ropes. You will come away from this camp with a feeling of accomplishment and survival. Come and be a part of this challenging experience.

CLOWNING AND PUPPETRY

An intergenerational camp – grades 6 thru adult

For all those who have and/or had a deep desire to run away with the circus and become a clown! Or if you ever had a desire to be a clown for Christ, this is your chance. This will be a fun loving camp, to say the least! You will not only learn about clowning and make-up, you will do skits and learn the symbolism behind clowning. You will do puppet shows and learn about the joy of sharing the love of Jesus through this special ministry.
