For children completing grade 3
For some, this will be the first time away from home. A three-day experience will serve as a gentle and interesting introduction to camping. This 3 day camp experience will be in our cabins and meals are served in the dining hall. This particular Getting Started experience is held in conjunction with a Pioneer Adventure camp where some activities will be together and some separate. This is a gentle way of introducing Hartman Center to new campers. |

Located at the Pioneer III campsite near the pond, Outpost camp offers a more rustic and hands-on camping experience for adventurous campers looking for a challenge. Unlike most other camps at Hartman Center, Outpost camp cooks most of their meals over an open fire. If you like camping and having fun in the outdoors, then Outpost camp is the camp for you. Lodging is in the Adirondacks which are three sided buildings with a wood floor and canvas curtain on the front side. Mattresses are supplied for sleeping.p> |

For those completing grades 4-6
Junior campers have a taste of the outdoors as they live in the A-frames of Pioneer I and eat their meals in the Pioneer “dining hall.” Nature, Christian fellowship, and Bible study are combined to develop a feeling of community in the group. Leadership is shared in the planning of activities such as hiking, crafts, rafting, swimming and games throughout the week. The Pioneer I area is an outdoor camping experience. The A-frames have wooden roofs and floors and canvas end flaps. There are flush toilets and hot showers in the shower house, but there is no electricity available. This style of small group living in the woods is designed to build close relationship among campers as they
experience true fellowship and acceptance, high levels of concern, communication and trust – a real taste of Christian community. |

For those completing grades 9-12
This camp is designed to help these emerging adults to work at being in community and dealing with the issues of emerging young adults. You will experience camp from a more mature level doing many things that younger campers do not have the opportunity to do but also learning a little more about being a leader. Faith building and learning how to express your faith and live your faith are all a part of this camp experience. |

For those completing grades 2-4
This is a week-long experience where campers stay in cabins and receive a well-rounded introduction to camping under the guidance of helping and caring counselors. Cooperation and friendship develop as campers swim, hike, create crafts, study the Bible and participate in many other wonderful and creative camp activities. |
