GETTING STARTED CAMPS
For children completing grade 3
For some, this will be the first time away from home. A three-day experience will serve as a gentle and interesting introduction to camping. The Three-day third grade camp is housed in the Stone House, and meals are served in the dining hall. This three-day experience begins with registrations on Wednesday, 2:00 p.m., and concludes Saturday, 9:00 a.m.
YOUNG PIONEER ADVENTURE CAMPS
For children completing grades 3-4
This is a week-long experience where campers stay in cabins or Pioneer II and receive a well-rounded introduction to camping under the guidance of helping and caring counselors. Cooperation and friendship develop as campers swim, hike, create crafts, study the Bible and participate in many other activities.
PIONEER ADVENTURE CAMPS
For children completing grades 4-6
Junior campers have a taste of the outdoors as they live in the A-frames of Pioneer I and eat their meals in the Pioneer “dining hall.” Nature, Christian fellowship, and Bible study are combined to develop a feeling of community in the group. Leadership is shared in the planning of activities such as hiking, crafts, rafting, swimming and games throughout the week. The Pioneer I area is an outdoor camping experience. The A-frames have wooden roofs and floors and canvas end flaps. There are flush toilets and hot showers in the shower house, but there is no electricity available. This style of small group living in the woods is designed to build close relationship among campers as they experience true fellowship and acceptance, high levels of concern, communication and trust a real taste of Christian community.
PAWS, JAWS AND CLAWS CAMP
For children completing grades 4-6
If you like animals, this is the camp for you! Your week will be filled with communing with the animals of God’s creation. From birds to reptiles to bats and even farm animals. You will learn what it’s like to look at the world through the eyes of our fellow creatures and fellow inhabitants of the earth. You will also learn what it means to respect animals, to take care of them, and to live in harmony with them.
JUNIOR HIGH CAMPS
For those youth completing grades 7-9
Living in the A-frames of P-II or cabins, participants enjoy all the regular camp activities such as swimming, hiking, crafts, campfires and the cooperation trail. This is the time when youth begin to become more aware of themselves as individuals and how they relate to the world around them. Bible studies deal with community and relationships as they explore how God calls all of us into service.
SENIOR HIGH CAMPS
For those youth completing grades 9-12
There are a wide variety of opportunities for senior high youth. Besides the “Specialty Camps”, there is one non-specific camp that offers a chance for young people to deal with the issues of emerging young adults.
